- 1 1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
- 2 eggs
- 6 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/4 c. grated carrot
- 1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
- 1/3 c. raisins
- pecan halves (optional)
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Grease 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 5/8-inch loaf pan.

3Stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg and cloves in small bowl to mix well.

4Beat eggs in large bowl until well blended.

5Add oil, vanilla and carrots; beat until well blended.

6Fold in walnuts and raisins.

7Turn into prepared pan.

8Place a row of pecan halves down top center.

9Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes.

10Cool bread in pan 10 minutes. Turn out onto wire rack to cool to room temperature.

11This loaf slices better if stored overnight.
