- 2 cups sifted, all purpose flour
- 3 tsp. double acting baking powder
- 2 tsps. dill
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/3 cup Crisco All vegetable shortening
- 1/2 cup sharp, shredded Cheddar or Swiss cheese
- 3/4 cup milk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

2In a bowl mix flour, baking powder, dill and salt.

3With a pastry blender cut in Crisco shortening until mixture looks like coarse meal.

4Stir in cheese. Add milk and stir just enough to hold together.

5Place on a lightly floured surface and knead lightly.

6Roll 3/4 inch thick. Cut with floured biscuit cutter without turning cutter (push straight down) and place on parchment lined cookie sheet.

7Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
