Herring Sandwiches

  • 4 ounces, weight Butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 5 slices Rye Bread
  • 1 Cucumber
  • 10 Lettuce Leaves
  • 10 pieces Pickled Herring Fillets (I Use Store-bought)

Directions

    Melt the butter in a small pot over a low heat.

    Press the garlic cloves and add them to the hot butter.
  3. 3
    Cut the bread slices in half diagonally and pour the butter with garlic on them (1 teaspoon per half).

    Place on a big plate arranged in a circle.

    Set aside.

    Cut the cucumber into rounds about 2mm thick.
  7. 7
    Layer all the ingredients over the buttered bread slices in the following order: lettuce leaves, cucumber rounds, herring pieces.

    Your herring sandwiches are ready to serve!
