- 4 ounces, weight Butter
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 5 slices Rye Bread
- 1 Cucumber
- 10 Lettuce Leaves
- 10 pieces Pickled Herring Fillets (I Use Store-bought)
Directions

1Melt the butter in a small pot over a low heat.

2Press the garlic cloves and add them to the hot butter.

3Cut the bread slices in half diagonally and pour the butter with garlic on them (1 teaspoon per half).

4Place on a big plate arranged in a circle.

5Set aside.

6Cut the cucumber into rounds about 2mm thick.

7Layer all the ingredients over the buttered bread slices in the following order: lettuce leaves, cucumber rounds, herring pieces.

8Your herring sandwiches are ready to serve!
