Hershey Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 Tbsp. water
  • 8 plain Hershey bars

    Cream Crisco and sugar.

    Add eggs, one at a time.

    Add flour, salt, baking powder and soda with buttermilk.

    Add vanilla and candy bars which have been melted in a double boiler.

    Bake in stem pan at 350° for 1 hour.

    Let stand in pan until cool.

    (Two loaf pans may be used instead of stem pan.)
