  • 3/4 lb. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Combine dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture, one cup at a time.

    Prick all over with a fork.

    Place in a preheated 375° oven and immediately reduce heat to 300°.

    Bake for 1 hour until pale golden brown.

    Cut in fingers while hot.

    Cool in pan.
