- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 c. liquid (orange or pineapple juice) or 1/4 c. both or 1/4 c. either and 1/4 c. water
- 1/4 c. melted butter or margarine
- salt to taste
- 4 or 5 medium yams, partially cooked, peeled and sliced
- cinnamon (optional)
Directions

1Combine sugar and starch. Blend well. Stir in liquid, butter and salt. Simmer over low heat, stirring constantly, until begins to thicken. Place yams in lightly greased 2-quart casserole. Add sauce. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
