Ingredients

  • 3 pounds ground beef
  • 2 quarts tomato juice
  • 2 green pepper, chopped and diced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 - 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper spices
  • 1 - 12 ounce jar picante sauce - hot
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce - tabasco
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans - 16 ounce, whole tomatoes, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cans of kidney beans

Directions

    Brown ground beef in a skillet.

    Drain.

    Combine all ingredients except kidney beans in a Dutch oven or stock pot.

    Cook on low for 2 to 3 hours until ingredients are tender and well blended.

    Add kidney beans to mixture.

    Cook until thoroughly heated.

    Can be made in slow cooker or crock pot before adding beans.
