  • 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans French style green beans
  • 5 tablespoons vinegar
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 12 cup green olives (sliced)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 5 slices bacon (fried and save the drippings)
  • 3 tablespoons bacon drippings, cooled
  • 12 cup almonds (slivered or sliced, sliced water chestnuts can be substituted)

Directions

    I drain the beans leaving a small amount of liquid.

    Fry bacon and save the drippings.

    Crumble bacon and mix all ingredients.

    Marinate overnight in an ovenproof dish.

    Preheat oven to 300F and bake covered for 30 minutes.

    Uncover and continue baking another 15-20 minutes.
