Hot Pecan Spread

  • 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
  • 1/3 c. sour cream
  • 1/2 c. very finely chopped green pepper
  • 2 green onions, minced
  • 2 1/2 oz. jar dried beef, rinsed and chopped
  • 1 to 2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 3 or 4 shakes of onion salt
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • pepper

Directions

    Mix cream cheese and sour cream with green pepper, onion, beef, garlic, onion salt and pepper.

    Put into small casserole. (Can be made ahead.)

    Toast pecans in melted butter in small skillet for about 2 minutes.

    Sprinkle over cheese mixture.

    At serving time, bake uncovered 15 to 20 minutes at 350° until hot. Serve with Melba toast rounds or crackers.

    Can also be served cold.
