Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 8 to 10 slices Velveeta cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Texas Hot Pete sauce and liquid smoke (optional)
  • 1 c. mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 to 2 cans biscuits or crescent rolls

Directions

    Brown hamburger; add onions and mushrooms and saute.

    Add salt, pepper, Hot Pete and liquid smoke to taste.

    Drain any fat from mixture in a colander.

    Allow to cool.

    Flatten out prepared biscuits or cut apart crescent rolls.

    Spoon some meat mixture onto the center of biscuit; place a slice of cheese on top; place second biscuit on top and carefully pinch edges together.

    Place on lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes or until biscuits are light golden brown.

    These can be frozen for snacks and lunches.
