Ingredients

  • 2 c. warm water
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 6 to 8 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 5 to 6 c. flour

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in water; combine with remaining ingredients. Place in large bowl; set in warm place to rise until double in bulk. Punch down; knead for a few minutes. Pinch off and form into rolls.

    Let rise again, then bake for 5 minutes in 400° oven, then reduce to 350° and finish baking.
