  • 2 c. lukewarm water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 6 1/2 to 7 c. flour

    sugar and salt with 2 cups lukewarm water in a large mixing bowl.

    Dissolve yeast in the same mixture.
