- 2 tablespoons bacon grease or oil
- 1 onion medium, sliced thinly
- 1 pound green bell peppers or banana peppers. cut into 1/4-inch strips
- 3 tomatoes large very ripe, peeled and chopped
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt less if using sausage
- 1 tablespoon hungarian paprika sweet
Directions

1In a large skillet, saute the onion in bacon fat or oil over low heat for 5 minutes.

2Add pepper and cook another 15 minutes.

3Add tomatoes, sugar, salt and paprika and cook for another 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until mixture resembles chunky tomato sauce.
