Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/2 lb. stew beef
  • flour
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 ribs celery, sliced
  • 1/2 lb. fresh sliced mushrooms
  • 4 carrots, sliced
  • 5 or 6 medium potatoes
  • 1 c. frozen green beans
  • 1 (12 oz.) can beer
  • 1 large tomato, chopped

Directions

    Dredge 1-inch cubes of beef in flour, pepper and salt.

    Brown in a little fat in the bottom of a soup kettle.

    Add onion and celery.

    Cook for about 20 minutes.

    Add remaining ingredients. Mix lightly.

    Add enough water to cover entire mixture.

    Cover tightly and cook about 20 to 25 minutes or until vegetables are cooked.
