- 2 c. white self-rising cornmeal mix
- 3 Tbsp. white self-rising flour
- 1 Tbsp. finely chopped onion
- 1 c. milk or water
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions

1Combine cornmeal, flour and onion.

2Gradually beat in milk or water and egg.

3Allow to sit 5 minutes.

4Drop from a spoon into hot fat where fish was fried.

5Fry until golden brown; drain on absorbent paper.

6Makes about 20 hushpuppies.
