- 1 cake mix (your favorite flavor)
- 1 qt. to 1/2 gal. ice cream (any flavor that goes well with cake)
- 1 large carton Cool Whip
Directions

1Prepare cake mix as directed, using two 8-inch or two 9-inch layers.

2Let cool completely.

3Use one of the cake pans as a mold for ice cream layer.

4Line pan with plastic wrap, spoon or scoop in ice cream and smooth with knife.

5Let ice cream harden in freezer.

6Once ice cream is hardened, place it between cake layers on a serving dish that is freezer safe and has a cover for storing in freezer.

7Use Cool Whip as icing.
