- 7 lb. cucumbers
- 5 lb. sugar
- 3 1/2 pt. brown vinegar
- 1 box pickling spice (pick out red pepper and tie in small piece of cheesecloth)
- 7 Tbsp. lime
Directions

1Wash and slice cucumbers.

2Cover with water and sprinkle with lime.

3Let soak for 24 hours (use plastic pot suitable for lime). Wash pickles one time each hour for 4 hours in clear water.

4After fourth washing, mix vinegar and sugar and pour over pickles.

5Put pickling spice in small sack and drop into pickles.

6Cover and let set overnight.

7Take sack of spices out of pickles and let pickles boil for 1 hour over medium heat.

8Put in hot jars and seal.

9Makes 8 to 9 pints.
