- 2 c. all purpose flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 3/4 c. raisins
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
Directions

1In a bowl, combine the first six ingredients; cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

2Stir in raisins.

3Add buttermilk; stir just until moistened.

4Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead 4 to 5 times.

5Roll into 1/2 inch thickness, cut with a 2-1/2 inch biscuit cutter.

6Place with sides barely touching on a greased baking sheet.

7Bake at 425 degrees for 12-17 minutes or until golden brown.
