- 4 cups milk
- 23 cup dark molasses
- 23 cup yellow cornmeal
- 13 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (heaping)
- 12 teaspoon nutmeg
- 12 teaspoon ginger
- 12 teaspoon mace
- 14 cup butter
Directions

1Heat oven to 300 degrees .

2Grease 2 quart ovenproof casserole.

3Mix cornmeal, sugar and spices.

4Heat 3 cups milk and molasses in medium size pot.

5Gradually add dry ingredients into hot mixture.

6Add butter.

7Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened (about 10 minutes or so).

8Pour into casserole.

9Gently pour remaining cup of milk over the pudding; do not stir.

10Bake uncovered for 3 hours.
