Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 sq. (1 oz. each) baking chocolate
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 (16 oz.) box confectioners sugar
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts or miniature marshmallows

Directions

    Butter an 8-inch square pan and set aside.

    Melt butter and chocolate together over low heat in a heavy, medium-size pan. Stir in corn syrup, water and vanilla.

    Remove from heat and immediately stir in sugar and nuts or marshmallows.

    The mixture will be quite stiff.

    Pack into prepared pan.

    Cool and cut into squares.

    Makes 1 3/4 pounds.
