- 7 c. sifted flour
- 1 1/2 c. scalded milk
- 1 stick butter
- 3 tsp. salt
- 3 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water
- 6 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbsp. Anisette
Directions

1Add butter to scalded milk to soften. Make a well in flour and add salt, sugar, milk, butter, egg, flavoring and dissolved yeast. Mix to a soft dough. Let rise and double in size.

2Break off three pieces the size of an egg and roll each piece into a rope.

3Pinch rope together at one end and braid.

4Brush with milk and sprinkle with poppy seed.

5Let rise and bake at 425° until done.
