- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 3/4 cups cornmeal
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups milk
Directions

1Combine lard and sugar, beating well. Add eggs; beat well. Sift together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.

2Spoon batter into a greased 13- x 9- x 2-inch baking pan. Bake at 450° for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
