Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. oleo
  • 6 1/2 qt. unsalted popped popcorn
  • 2 c. dry roasted peanuts
  • 2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. soda

Directions

    Pour 1/2 cup melted oleo into large baking pan.

    Add popped corn and nuts.

    Combine remaining oleo, sugar, syrup, vanilla and salt in a large pot and boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.

    Continue boiling 5 minutes.

    Remove from heat.

    Stir in baking soda.

    Pour over corn mixture.

    Mix lightly.

    Bake at 250° for 1 hour and 30 minutes (STIRRING EVERY 15 MINUTES).
