  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 c. sifted cake flour

Directions

    Cream the butter. Add sugar and vanilla. Cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.

    Fold into creamed mixture alternately with milk. Reserve 1 cup batter for cupcakes. Grease mold.

    Pour 1 cup batter into deep portions and base of back of mold.

    Pour remaining batter into face side. Bake for 50 minutes at 325° in preheated oven.

    Remove from oven and let stand for 5 minutes before taking out of cake pan. Cool and frost.

    Bake cupcakes for 20 to 25 minutes in a 325° oven.
