- 3 c. sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 6 c. whole bran or Bran Buds
- 2 c. boiling water
- 1 qt. buttermilk
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 5 c. flour
- 5 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Pour boiling water into large bowl with sugar, shortening and bran.

2Stir until shortening is dissolved.

3Add eggs, buttermilk and dry ingredients.

4Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes.

5Fill cups 3/4 full.
