  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 x eggs
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 cups flour, all-purpose
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, unsalted very cold, cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon lavender buds, dried, minced

    In a large bowl, whisk the dry ingredients together.

    Using forks, cut the cold butter into the dry ingredients until it has the consistency of coarse corn meal.

    In a separate bowl, whisk the buttermilk and eggs together and then add to the dry ingredients.
