Layered Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 head lettuce, torn in bite size pieces
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1 small red onion, chopped
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen English peas, thawed
  • 1 (8 1/2 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
  • 1 c. thinly sliced radishes (optional)
  • 1 c. mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 1 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 6 slices bacon, crisply fried and crumbled

Directions

    Layer lettuce, celery, green pepper, onion, peas, water chestnuts and radishes in a large salad bowl.

    Spread mayonnaise over top, sealing layers completely.

    Chill 24 hours or overnight. Sprinkle with cheese and bacon.

    Toss before serving.
