- 3 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. dry bread or 2 c. soft bread, cut into small pieces
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 lemon juice and grated rind
- 3/4 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Soak bread crumbs with milk 1/2 hour.

2Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.

3Beat in eggs, lemon juice, rind and vanilla.

4Stir in the milk mixture.

5Pour into a 2 1/2 quart baking dish.

6Place the dish in a pan of hot water and bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
