Lemon Nut Bread

- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
- 1 Tbsp. lemon rind
- 1/4 c. sugar
- juice from 1 lemon
Directions

1Cream together the Crisco and 1 cup sugar.

2Add eggs (beaten), flour, baking powder, nuts and lemon rind.

3Place in a greased and floured loaf pan.

4Bake at 350° for 1 hour.

5When removed from the oven, poke holes in the top of the bread.

6Mix 1/4 cup sugar and the juice from a lemon together until dissolved.

7Pour mixture into the holes that you make in the bread.

8Cool and serve!
