Lemon Nut Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon rind
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • juice from 1 lemon

Directions

    Cream together the Crisco and 1 cup sugar.

    Add eggs (beaten), flour, baking powder, nuts and lemon rind.

    Place in a greased and floured loaf pan.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour.

    When removed from the oven, poke holes in the top of the bread.

    Mix 1/4 cup sugar and the juice from a lemon together until dissolved.

    Pour mixture into the holes that you make in the bread.

    Cool and serve!
