Ingredients
- 1/4 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 c. boiling water
- 3 egg yolks
- juice and grated rind of 1 lemon
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Directions

1Mix flour, cornstarch and sugar.

2Add the boiling water, stirring the mixture as water is added.

3Stir and cook over low flame 15 minutes.

4Put the egg yolks into a bowl and beat them slightly.

5Pour a portion of the hot sugar and starch mixture into the egg yolk and mix.

6Then return this mixture to the remainder of the sugar and starch mixture and stir and cook over low flame until the egg yolks are thickened.

7Remove from the flame; add lemon, butter and salt and mix.

8Cover with meringue.

9Bake at 350° for 12 minutes.
