- 2 c. scalded milk or warm water
- 1 yeast cake or pkg.
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. shortening
- 5 c. flour
Directions

1Add yeast to 1/4 cup warm water.

2Let stand 5 minutes.

3Add shortening, salt and sugar to milk or warm water.

4Add soft yeast and flour.

5Beat well.

6Place in greased bowl and let rise 1 1/2 hours.

7Punch down and let rise a second time if desired.

8Work down and shape into rolls.

9Place in greased pans.

10Let rise and bake in hot oven.
