  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. real butter
  • 2 c. half and half
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Directions

    Combine sugar, syrup, salt, butter and 1 cup half and half in a large heavy saucepan.

    Stir constantly until mixture comes to a full boil.

    Gradually add remaining half and half so that the boiling does not stop.

    Continue stirring to hard boil.

    Remove from heat.

    Stir in vanilla and nuts.

    Pour into buttered 8-inch square pan.

    When cold, turn out on cutting board and cut into squares.
