- 7 lb. cucumbers, cut in 1/4-inch slices
- 2 c. lime
- 2 gal. water
- 3 pt. vinegar
- 4 lb. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. celery seed
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. mixed pickling spice
Directions

1Mix the lime with the 2 gallons water and pour over cucumbers. Let stand 24 hours.

2Stir often, but gently.

3Stir these several times so the lime mixes with the cucumbers.

4Rinse well; cover with clean, cold water.

5Let stand for 4 hours; drain well.
