- 8 lb. medium cucumbers
- 2 c. hydrated lime
- 2 gal. cold water
- 2 qt. vinegar
- 8 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 1 tsp. whole cloves
- 1 Tbsp. mixed pickling spices
Directions

1Slice cukes in 1/4-inch slices.

2Cover with lime and water. Soak 24 hours.

3Rinse well.

4Cover with ice water for 3 hours. Drain and cover with other ingredients.

5Let stand overnight. Boil gently about 35 minutes.

6Pack in jars.

7This makes a crisp pickle.

8Add a little green coloring if desired.

9Makes a pretty garnish around meats etc., also.
