Ingredients

  • 2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 envelopes active dry yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 7 c. flour

Directions

    Mix water, sugar, salt and yeast in bowl.

    Add egg, shortening and flour.

    Knead to soft dough.

    Let rise until double in bulk. Shape the dough into various rolls and let rise about 2 hours. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 400°.
