Maple Baked Beans

  • (all are approx)
  • 1 bag (1 lb)navy beans
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 1-2 cups broth
  • 1-2 tsp ea oregano, garlic powder, cumin, paprika
  • s&p
  • apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp arrowroot powder

Directions

    -soak dried beans for 8 hrs OR used canned/pre-soaked beans
  2. 2
    - mix maple syrup, broth, spices, chopped onion, mustard, ACV etc and add beans. Top up with water to cover
  3. 3
    - cook in slow cooker over night
  4. 4
    - in morning transfer to pot on stove and reduce remaining liquid, add arrowroot
  5. 5
    - if have not added ACV before, add now
  6. 6
    - season to taste
