- 6 c. sugar
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 2 c. dark corn syrup
- 1 (14 oz.) can evaporated milk
- 2 tsp. maple flavoring
- 1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1 1/2 c. coconut
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Combine sugar, butter, corn syrup, milk and maple flavoring in large, heavy saucepan.

2Cook over low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring often.

3Add nuts and coconut; increase heat.

4Cook to soft ball stage, stirring constantly.

5Add vanilla.

6Cool to lukewarm.

7Beat until mixture loses its gloss.

8Pour into buttered 13 x 9-inch pan.
