- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
- 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. maple syrup, divided
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400°.

2Grease muffin tins.

3In medium bowl, stir egg, melted butter, 1/2 cup maple syrup and vanilla.

4Add flour, baking powder and salt.

5Stir until just blended.

6Batter will be lumpy.

7Pour batter in muffin tins.

8In small bowl, stir together the brown sugar, pecans and remaining maple syrup.

9Spoon over muffins.

10Bake 8 to 10 minutes until wooden pick inserted comes out clean.

11Remove pans to wire rack; let cool 5 minutes.
