- 6 tablespoons butter or 6 tablespoons margarine, softened
- 12 cup brown sugar, packed and divided
- 2 eggs, divided
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 23 cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 14 teaspoon salt
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2Spray square baking dish.

3Combine butter and 1/4 cup brown sugar in bowl.

4Separate one egg; reserve yolk.

5Beat egg white into butter mixture.

6Add flour, stirring until well blended and dough forms.

7Press dough onto bottom of square baking dish.

8Bake 15 minutes.

9In small bowl, whisk together syrup, reserved egg yolk, and remaining egg, remaining brown sugar, vanilla and salt using whisk.

10Stir in pecans.

11Pour over hot crust; continue baking 13-15 minutes or until filling is set and crust is golden brown.
