  • 2 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. maple syrup
  • 2/3 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 c. broken pecans or walnuts

Directions

    Combine first five ingredients in 2-quart heavy saucepan. Cook, stirring, until sugar is dissolved.

    If sugar crystals form on side of pan, wipe them off.

    Continue cooking, without stirring, to hard ball stage (265°).

    Spread on greased cookie sheet.
