- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
Directions

1Boil syrup until it forms a thread.

2Beat egg whites until stiff, adding syrup slowly until icing is cold and thick.

3Add baking powder during last part of beating.

4Sufficient for icing and filling for 9-inch layer cake.
