Ingredients

  • 5 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1 cup wheat germ
  • 34 cup oat bran
  • 12 cup flax seed meal
  • 13 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup skim milk powder
  • 12 cup vegetable oil
  • 12 cup maple syrup
  • 12 cup light syrup
  • 1 teaspoon maple flavoring

Directions

    Preheat oven to 250 degrees.

    Chop walnuts.

    Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl with wooden spoon.

    Add oil, syrup and maple flavoring.

    Mix together thoroughly using the back of a spoon.

    Distribute the mixture evenly onto 3 cookie sheets.

    Place in the oven and bake or 45-60 minutes stirring every 15 minutes.

    I often stir mine only once so I get big chunks in my granola.

    Once you take the granola out of the oven, cool completely before eating or storing in an airtight container.
