- 1/2 c. shortening
- 16 maraschino cherries, chopped
- 1/4 c. cherry juice
- 1/2 c. milk
- 4 large egg whites, unbeaten
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Sift first four ingredients.

2Add next four ingredients and beat 2 minutes.

3Add egg whites.

4Fold in nuts.

5Bake in two 8 or 9-inch round cake pans or a loaf pan at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes. Frost with a buttercream frosting.
