- 8 large Russet potatoes (about 4 1/2 to 5 lb.)
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1 c. sour cream
- 2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
Directions

1In large pot, boil potatoes until tender.

2Drain and mash well.

3In small bowl with electric mixer, beat cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.

4Gradually add cream cheese mixture to potatoes, beating until smoothly blended.

5Beat in garlic salt and pepper.

6Turn mixture into a buttered shallow 3 or 4-quart casserole dish.

7Dot with butter or margarine.

8Cover with lid or foil.

9Bake covered in 400° oven until heated through (50 to 60 minutes).

10Yields 12 to 15 servings.
