  • 1 Mekitsi or pizza dough
  • 1 Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 Bulgarian white cheese or feta (optional)

Directions

    Oil your hands, twist off a part of the dough and roll it in a ball in your hands - golf ball size.

    Pull the dough from all sides with your hands until thinned.

    You can use a rolling pin to roll the balls if you like.

    Then fry it on both sides in a frying pan until it turns golden.

    You can make mekitsi with cheese if you put some over the thinned ball of dough and make a roll or fold it in half and press the edges to seal them.
