- 3 c. self-rising cornmeal
- 1 can cream-style corn
- 1 Tbsp. chopped onion
- 2/3 c. Crisco oil
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. grated cheese
- 2 small chopped jalapeno peppers, seeded
- 1 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Combine cornmeal, sugar and cheese.

2Add onion, oil, eggs, milk and corn.

3Mix well.

4Fold in peppers.

5Bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan, well greased, at 350° for approximately 45 minutes.
