Ingredients

  • Milky Way bars (either 5 in pkg. of 6 or 10 or 12 in miniature pkg.)
  • 2 sticks butter or margarine
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 whole eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 1/3 c. plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Directions

    Melt 1 stick butter and Milky Way bars in top of double boiler; put aside.

    Cream other stick of butter with sugar.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

    Add flour with soda and salt alternately with buttermilk.

    Add melted candy and nuts. Put in 2 or 3 (9-inch) layer cake pans and bake at 325° for about 30 minutes.

    Frost with Chocolate Icing using evaporated milk and chocolate chips.
