- 1 1/2 c. Crisco shortening
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 4 c. flour
- 4 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. ginger
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, and molasses together.

2Set aside.

3Sift together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.

4Mix dry ingredients with creamed mixture.

5Roll into 1-inch balls.

6Roll in sugar placed on waxed paper.

7Place on lightly greased cookie sheets.

8Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes.
