- 1 pkg. (1 Tbsp.) yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- 3 c. and 3 Tbsp. flour
- margarine
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Add the egg.

3In another bowl, mix the sugar, shortening and boiling water until all the shortening has melted smoothly into the mixture.

4Allow to cool slightly, then add to the yeast mixture.

5Mix all liquids together.

6Fold in flour and salt.

7Stir until thoroughly mixed. Allow to rise until double in size.
