  • 8 to 10 slices bread, buttered and cut in squares
  • 3 to 4 large cans mushrooms, drained or use pieces and stems, drained
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 c. chopped green peppers
  • 2 c. mayonnaise
  • 2 c. milk
  • 4 eggs
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • Parmesan cheese

Directions

    Butter a 9 x 13-inch casserole.

    Place half the buttered bread squares on the bottom of the dish.

    Place 1/2 the mushrooms on the bread.

    Combine chopped celery, onion and green peppers with mayonnaise.

    Spread half of this mixture over mushrooms.

    Repeat layers.
